One month after Tibet-Nepal floods, families still await missing loved ones

Kathmandu [Nepal], September 27 (ANI): One month after the devastating Bhotekoshi floods, thousands of families in Nepal continue to search for loved ones who remain unaccounted for. At Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, photographs of missing people line the walls, serving as a painful reminder of the disaster’s human toll. Nepal’s authorities have recovered more than 1,400 bodies, while thousands remain missing as search and identification efforts continue. DNA samples from victims and relatives are being collected to help identify unidentified remains and reunite families. More than 13,000 people have been rescued, while survivors remain in holding centres across affected districts. The August 26 floods caused widespread destruction across Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and surrounding areas, leaving families waiting for answers and Nepal facing a long road to recovery.
