Vietnam's top legislature wraps up session

Hanoi [Vietnam], November 16: The 15th National Assembly (NA) of Vietnam, the country's top legislature, concluded its fourth session here on Tuesday, with economic development plans for 2023 approved and new personnel appointed.
The NA voted to pass six laws, 12 thematic resolutions and the general resolution of the session. It also gave opinions on eight bills and resolutions on other important issues.
Regarding personnel issues, the NA appointed the minister of health, minister of transport, and auditor general of the State Audit Office of Vietnam.
Speaking at the closing meeting, NA Chairman VuongDinh Hue said that after 21 days of work, the session completed the planned program.
Amid complicated developments in Vietnam and the world, the NA said, it is important to maintain the macroeconomic stability and speed up public investment disbursement while addressing challenges including fuel shortages, lack of medical equipment and supplies, public sector workers quitting jobs, the COVID-19 pandemic, and climate change, among others.
