Washington [US], November 7: According to survey results published yesterday by The New York Times and Siena University, former US President Donald Trump is leading current President Joe Biden by 4 - 10 percentage points in 5/6 key swing states. Key points include Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada and Pennsylvania, while the current president leads in Wisconsin by only 2 percentage points.
Notably, in the 2020 presidential election, Mr. Biden defeated Mr. Trump in all 6 of those states.
Many voters say they trust Mr. Trump more than his successor on economic, foreign and immigration policies. The group of multi-ethnic and multi-generational voters supporting Mr. Biden is also decreasing. The number of voters under 30 years old supporting the current president is only 1 percentage point better than his predecessor. The survey results were released a year before the presidential election. Currently, both Mr. Biden and his predecessor are leading among their party's candidates.
