Taiwanese diva Xiao Ya-Xian's face disfigured after being attacked by a dog

Feb 10, 2026

Hanoi [Vietnam], February 10: Once one of the leading divas in the Chinese music industry, Xiao Ya Xuan shocked fans with a dramatic change in appearance after a serious accident involving a dog attack, forcing her to undergo lengthy treatment and multiple reconstructive surgeries, Kbizoom reported on February 8th.
Xiao Ya Xuan , born in 1979, was once a prominent figure in the Mandopop (Mandarin-language pop) music scene, known for her refined beauty, distinctive voice, and captivating stage presence. Her successful music career propelled her to A-list stardom, while her tumultuous love life also frequently brought her to the forefront of the media. However, in recent years, her appearance in public has sparked controversy and left many people astonished.
Xiao Ya Xian's face was 'disfigured' due to an accident caused by her pet.
The biggest event in her life occurred in 2021, when Xiao Ya Xuan suffered a serious accident involving her own pet. Being an animal lover, she kept a total of five dogs at home. In late March 2021, while with her then-boyfriend Huang Hao, one of the dogs suddenly lost control and attacked them both. Xiao Ya Xuan suffered serious facial injuries, while her boyfriend sustained injuries to his mouth. Both were immediately rushed to the hospital.
Xiao Ya Xuan's injuries were assessed as serious, leading to a prolonged infection lasting nearly two months and significantly affecting her facial structure. During her recovery, the singer said she was almost unable to move, and both her physical and mental health deteriorated. Even simple movements like smiling, crying, or touching her face became difficult.
Following the accident, Xiao Ya Xuan temporarily suspended all entertainment activities for over a year to focus on treatment and recovery. She admitted that the incident severely damaged her face, forcing her to undergo reconstructive and cosmetic surgeries to correct the damage. The singer tearfully shared that for artists, appearance is a vital factor, and facing one's own reflection in the mirror is an incredibly painful experience.
Notably, despite suffering serious injuries, Xiao Ya Xuan affirmed that she does not resent or abandon the dogs that caused the accident. This statement has generated mixed reactions from the public, but it also demonstrates her consistent affection and perspective towards animals.
According to Chinese media, having undergone numerous cosmetic procedures in the past, coupled with the severe consequences of the aforementioned accident, has caused Xiao Ya Xuan's facial features to become unbalanced. Unedited photos from public events show her face appearing stiff, uneven, and significantly different from her peak beauty.
This change has left many viewers feeling nostalgic for the natural beauty that was once synonymous with the name of Taiwan's "Queen of Pop."
