Russia - Saudi Arabia strengthen cooperation on oil prices

Riyadh [Saudi Arabia], December 8: Reuters reported on December 7 that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman discussed strengthening cooperation on oil prices between the two countries as members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries and other currencies. (OPEC+).
The discussion took place quickly in the capital Riyadh on December 6 (local time), after Mr. Putin visited the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Moscow and Riyadh will continue to cooperate within OPEC+, aiming to maintain the international energy market at a suitable, stable and predictable level.
The meeting took place after oil prices fell despite OPEC+'s commitment to continue cutting production. Saudi Arabia and Russia are the world's largest and second largest oil exporters, respectively , maintaining important influence on global oil prices. Saudi media said Mr. Mohammed praised the coordination between the two countries "which has helped ease tensions in the Middle East."
Mr. Putin's delegation includes top Russian officials in oil, economics, foreign affairs, space, nuclear energy, and business leaders.
On December 7, the Russian President received Iranian President EbrahimRaisi in Moscow. According to the schedule, the two sides plan to discuss bilateral cooperation, focusing on implementing economic and trade cooperation projects, including transportation and energy.
